Just keeping an eye on Randwick and watching the races today! As I write this, WINX is $1.90 on Betfair and $1.15 on Tatts – a little bit of a difference!
Saturday was an interesting day at Caulfield where there were many first up horses with not enough exposed form. This can make it more tricky finding winners, but I feel that overall it was a pretty good day. Tipped in 11 races overall to find 8 winners, and I thought the standout ride for the day was PRUSSIAN VIXEN (tipped for the members at assessed odds of $8.00 and paid $20.60 on Betfair). With the Best Bets, had one winner, FIERY HEIGHTS, after an immensely frustrating run of no results (and that also includes the Free Tips). After watching CHAUTAUQUA’s run on Saturday, my thoughts are that maybe he is looking for 1400 to 1600m. Bring on the Doncaster!
I mentioned above that selecting winners for the Best Bets and Free Tips has been an extremely frustrating exercise recently. Personally, I prefer backing more than one horse per race as whilst the returns can be lower, the risk of losing is also lower. This strategy may not be for everyone, but we have been getting quite a few questions about Dutch Betting recently, and how to find value with bets.
