Value Plus Results on Saturday

An interesting day at the Gold Coast on Saturday.  I was really pleased to see Jeff Lloyd win the Magic Millions 2YO Classic on HOUTZEN – it’s always good to see someone of my vintage still out there crossing the line first!  In fact, he led the whole way.
And in the upset of the day, FLYING JESS swooped home to win against GLOBAL GLAMOUR and the previously unbeaten WINNING RUPERT.  And paid well over $100 – reminiscent of OAKS DAY last year when LASQUETI SPIRIT was the surprise winner.  In the after race comments, WINNING RUPERT’s trainer, Bjorn Baker said, and I quote: “the step up in distance might have been the colt’s downfall.  He had the run, he just didn’t finish it off so we’ve just got to say maybe he’s come to the end of his prep or maybe the tough seven furlongs found him out”.  Will be interesting to see the next move for this one.
And, as I mentioned in our results post this week, Saturday was a day where the favourites failed to come home as expected particularly at FLEMINGTON.  I think that in part this is due to the fact that some of them had already peaked a week or two ago.
On the one hand, Saturday’s results were great with the winners in 11 out of 13 races in the selections.  And lots of value with winners paying from $4.60 through to $37.10.  Just a reminder, the payments I quote are based on my returns on Betfair.  In general, this platform will offer better prices and I would also suggest that if you have more than one betting account, it’s a good idea to check them and see who is offering the best returns.  If you need some advice about this, please give me a call or drop me a line.
On the other hand, it wasn’t one of our better days for the Best Bets, Free Tips and exotics (frustratingly in several races we had 1st, 3rd and 4th!).  These are the sort of things that send me back to watch evermore replays and learn from what happened.  Trust me, I want to find the winners and value as much as you do!

In recent weeks I have talked quite a bit about Dutch Betting Strategy.  This is simply a suggestion from us as a way to provide consistent returns and build your bank slowly and steadily.  However, if this is not for you and you are not sure how to best use the information, again, please give me a call.  I am very happy to help with something different so that you are punting the way you want to.  For example, I am always trying to find value in the selections so that if you want to you can do a trifecta yourself.
Understanding the CLASS of race can be quite mind boggling at times.  For example, a horse can win well one week and then not even place the next.  PRIMA was a prime example of this – ran last Saturday for no result but won the week before at MOONEE VALLEY.  just one more thing to be mindful of!!
If you haven’t already done so, you  might like to think about becoming more than a subscriber and join up as a member.  For a Starter Membership – sign up and pay nothing for 14 days and receive a minimum of 4 days tipping (Wednesdays and Saturdays).  Once the free trial is over, you will be billed $49 per month for six months.  And with an average of 8 days tipping per month, that’s just over $6 per day.  Not much more than buying a beer and a form guide!  Plus personalised service from me!
Call me for a chat about any of this and I would love to hear what you think about how we do the selections, the free tips, how these tips are provided, the information on the website and anything else that comes to mind!  1300 RACEBIZ.(1300 722 324)
Happy punting!
